The Disposable Project - Empowering Tanzanian Youth Through Photography

idea by rguerre9

Overview of Idea

With ZIFF being east Africa’s largest film and arts festival, my greatest hope is to exhibit the resulting artwork from TDP in the country where it was conceived in order to foster a sense of accomplishment within these 9 kids and create a solid foundation of awareness for when the book is released.

The Specifics: What will the $5,000 fund?

The funding will make the exhibition of this photographic series a reality. The packaging, crating, and air freight transportation of the 12 25"x19" framed prints to ZIFF and then to Arusha will run $2,600. My airfare back to Tanzania in order to receive the prints once shipped, display, and transport them to Arusha will be $2,501.
I set out on this project to inspire the children and have them notice their potential to produce great work and put more focus more on their academic lives, facilitated by the sponsorship funds collected from a photo book that is currently being put together. What better way to empower them by having their work noticed by the vast international. community and displayed in their home country?
